“I’m confused.” “I’m struggling.” “I can’t seem to find a way to make progress.” “Why can’t I figure this out?” Each of these statements has been said to me by a client at some point in time. It’s ironic that the times we get stressed and are at our worst are often the times we decide to become self-reliant. The truth is that sometimes there are things about ourselves or our lives that we simply need someone else’ help to figure out.
The problems we experience may not require the credentials of therapist, but they may need a different perspective than a friend or family member can provide; someone who can help us see things differently and then help us figure out the steps to take to resolve the problem or change our lives.
